Breast Screening

The National Breast Screening Programme is an early detection service for breast cancer. It uses x-rays to look for small cancers that can’t be felt.

All women who are aged between 50 and 71 are routinely invited for free breast screening every three years.

Please ensure your GP has your correct address, as this invite is via post.

If you are under 50 and have any concerns about your breasts, please discuss with a GP.

If you are over 71, you can request an appointment by calling our local screening centre: Worcester Breast unit on 01905 760145. Further information on breast screening including a discussion of the benefits & risks can be found at www.nhs.uk/conditions/breast-cancer-screening/.
