From Monday 30/03/2020, during the Corona Virus pandemic, we will now be delivering ALL prescriptions except for those for 'out of area' patients'. Deliveries will happen twice weekly and will be completed by volunteers organised by Stay Connected in Upton. All acute prescriptions that are required to be started the same day will be delivered from 4.30pm that day (if you have been prescribed an acute item please contact Stay Connected between 10am and 3pm on 01684 594 991). This is to reduce the need for people to leave their houses and reduce social contacts.

Out of area patients' will still need to collect their prescriptions in the same way, the dispensary will remain closed for collections from 10am to 3pm.

At this time please allow 7 days for your repeat to be processed. The dispensary is only closed for prescription collections between 10am and 3pm but we will be working hard to ensure your prescriptions are ready when needed. We will not be processing prescriptions that are ordered earlier than usual and we cannot issue any more than 1 month of prescriptions at one time. Our standard delivery service remains for current delivery patients.

We are currently trialling a new system where patients who come to collect their medicines/paper prescriptions will drive to the car park and give their name to a member staff and the prescription will be brought to your car. Please be aware staff members will be wearing protective masks and clothing

Repeat Prescriptions

As of April 1st, we are requesting that you please allow 3 full working days to collect your medication from the Dispensary. Any requests received before 11am Monday to Friday, will be ready to collect 72 hours later.
We Apologize for the increase in wait time for your medication and advise that you order your medication when you have 7-14 days left of your current supply.

This change only impacts Dispensing Patients.

You can order your prescription in several ways:
• Patient Access online- Please ask for details at the Reception Desk.
• Via our post box located next to the Dispensary hatch.
• Our repeat prescription line. Open Monday to Friday 8:30-10:30 on 01684 592840.
• Via fax on 01684 592372
• Or ask at the Dispensary about how we can manage your repeat prescriptions for you.

How to Request a Repeat Prescription

  • CLICK HERE to request a repeat prescription via Patient Access, our online system. (Please note - You must register at the surgery in person with photo ID to use this facility.)  
  • By placing in the box next to the dispensary counter.
  • By posting your order slip to us.  
  • By telephoning on our designated telephone line Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 10.30am. Telephone number: 01684 592840

Please only order what you require from the order slip.


The dispensary is open from 8.30am until 6.30pm on Monday to Friday

The dispensing team are responsible for all repeat prescription requests and will discuss any medication queries.


Due to changes with the way the NHS is moving so that patient data is not duplicated or used fraudulently patients names held on record at the surgery MUST match that held centrally by the NHS. Unfortunately this may mean that the name that you use day to day may no longer be the one that appears on any official NHS paperwork, including prescriptions. We appreciate that for some this may seem impersonal or inappropriate but we hope that you will accept the need for accurate patient records across the NHS. 

Please note that if you collect your prescriptions from a chemist you must inform them of any previously recorded names to prevent duplicate medication records at the pharmacy, as they do not have access to the central NHS record yet.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, pharmacist, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
