Practice Nurse Team

There are six Practice Nurses who are actively involved within the Surgery, giving a diverse variety of care and treatments.

Practice Nurses are available Monday to Friday 8.30 am until 5.30 pm.

Consultation is usually by appointment, however with a triage system in place at the Surgery patients can be seen on the day if required.

Practice Nurses are supported by a Health Care Assistant who is involved with venepuncture, ECG’s, dietary advice, smoking cessation and new patient checks.

Our HCA is available on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.30 am until 1 pm. Consultation is by appointment.

Phlebotomy

The surgery has phlebotomy services Monday to Friday, 8.30 am until 12.00 noon.

Patients who require blood tests must make an appointment.

PLEASE ensure that all blood requests are clearly outlined in patient records detailing what bloods are to be taken and why.

Also ensure that if fasting bloods are required that the patient receives specific instructions as to when and how to fast prior to their test.

Specimens for Worcester are collected twice daily from Reception by the hospital courier, at 12.30 pm and 2.15 pm.

Gloucester courier collects from Reception at 9.30 am.

All Warfarin monitoring and some anticoagulation initiation is carried out in house using near patient testing and DAWN CDSS and is managed by the Practice Nurses.
