Non-urgent advice: Modern General Practice

Over the last few years, there has been a substantial increase in the demand for GP services, both nationally and at our own Surgery.  To maintain a high quality of care and prompt response we need to make a change in the way we ask you to contact the Surgery.
Usually patients have contacted the Surgery by telephone. At busy times, you have either waited in a queue, or requested a call back.
From 15th May 2024, we will be introducing the NHS ‘Modern General Practice’ approach, where you contact us using an on-line form.

Non-urgent advice: Pharmacist First scheme

Launched from 31 January 2024, community pharmacies can now complete episodes of care for people with seven common conditions- sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bite, impetigo, shingles, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

Our team will start offering COVID-19 Spring Booster vaccinations to those:
Aged 75+
Severely immunosuppressed

Appointments are available from April 22nd, and as done so previously, those eligible will be invited either via text or letter.

Non-urgent advice: Dispensary Lunch Closure

Please note the new hours for Dispensary will be 8:30-12:30 and 13:30-18:30 Monday to Friday, from Monday 22nd April 2024.

We kindly request that you do not attend the Dispensary Desk during this lunch period. Our service will remain unchanged and we will continue to issue a message when your prescription is ready for collection. Please ensure that you have provided us with up to date contact information.

Non-urgent advice: Dosette service

Are you aware of our dosette service offered here at Upton?
If you are a dispensing patient who receives medication from the surgery, we may be able to dispense your medication in a pre-packed tray each week, laying all of your tablets out ready for you to take from Monday morning through to Sunday evening. This can be delivered to your home on a weekly basis, or you can collect from the surgery at a time convenient to you.

These trays are a great aid to anyone who takes more than 6 different tablets per day, who struggle to manage their medication themselves, or for patients who may be frail and have carers. If you feel you would benefit from a dosette box and meet the listed criteria, please contact our Dispensary or Reception Team to enquire about your eligibility.
